Modern Medusa

She is modeled after Grace Kelly, sculpted out of water based clay and painted with acrylics. As mythology goes, Medusa was raped by Poseidon in Athena's temple. Athena got jealous, and turned Medusa's hair into a writhing mass of monstrous snakes as a punishment. Medusa originally had long, flowing hair and was was a very beautiful woman, which I wanted to portray. Instead of having her screaming and scary, I wanted to have her solemn and stoic.
